Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps ("DVAC", "we", "us") is a volunteer emergency medical services organization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and member portal, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, mailing address, and mobile phone number, together with your emergency-contact details and volunteer membership information. When you enable text-message notifications, we also record your opt-in consent, the date and time you consented, and the version of the consent language you agreed to. We collect limited technical information (such as IP address and browser type) when you use our services.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate DVAC's membership, scheduling, and emergency-services operations; to assign and communicate volunteer shifts; to send administrative notices; and to contact you in an emergency. When you opt in, we use your mobile number to send the text messages described below.

Text Messaging (SMS) Program

If you opt in to DVAC Alerts, we will send recurring SMS text messages to the mobile number you provide. These messages are transactional and operational in nature and may include shift assignment alerts, schedule-change alerts, certification and training expiration reminders, and other administrative notices needed to staff emergency medical services.

• Message frequency varies, up to approximately 10 messages per month.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to cancel at any time. After you reply STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation and will not receive further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.

• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of volunteering, membership, or any service we provide, and you may decline or withdraw it at any time.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate our systems (for example, our messaging and hosting providers) and only as needed to deliver the services described here, or as required by law.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Data Retention and Security

We retain your information for as long as you are associated with DVAC and as necessary to meet our legal, operational, and emergency-services obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it.

Your Choices

You may review and update your profile and notification preferences in the member portal at https://members.dumontambulance.org. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP or by turning off SMS notifications in your profile. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Children

Our services are intended for adult volunteers and applicants and are not directed to children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
